She is currently working as a Visual Editor at the Columbia Missourian, coordinating assignments for a staff of 17 photographers and editing both stills and video. Previously, she worked as a Staff Visual Journalist for the Columbia Missourian, covering a range of daily and long-term assignments.
Maya, a cellist of 14 years, has a strong draw to photographing and filming anything music-related. She is specializing in Documentary Film and Photojournalism at the Missouri School of Journalism and is working towards a minor in Biological Sciences as well. Over the last few years, she has worked at several small, organic farms. From that experience, she has discovered an interest in telling stories about sustainable living and conservation.
